Trey Wheeler is spinning some heads…..

Not too long from now, Trey Wheeler will be a household name among the Quarterback recruiting ranks. Trey has been a long time member with the Darin Slack Quarterback Academy completing both camps and personal training.and now has blossomed into one of the top QB’s in the West.  Only a Junior, we expect Trey to be a nationally ranked Quarterback by the end of the 2009 season after launching onto the scene last season as a sophomore.
With the University of Washington holding its 7 on 7 tournament today and Trey stole the show from BYU commit Jake Heaps and many other top ranked players. Heaps, a 4 star player is ranked 8th in the nation for pro style QB’s by rivals. He performed well but according to onlookers, Trey was the standout at the tourney.

Here is what one person had to say about Trey, “Best player in the tourney you ask….I can’t believe I am saying this…was not Heaps or Williams… it was Liberty HS QB Trey Wheeler who lead LHS to a late game drive inside of two minutes to go undefeated and win the tournament. Wheeler threw two great balls in the final drive…one for about 30 yards the other a bullet for the final score.

I pretty much had my write up set before the event highlighting the Heaps/Williams show…but I had to rewrite it after I saw the action. SHS DB made a great pick late and it looked as thought the game was going to go their way. LHS made a stop with under 2 min remaining in the game and Wheeler did the rest. #9 and #10 for LHS made some spectacular grabs…#9 in particular on the last drive.”

This will be an exciting next 2 seasons for the Wheeler family and DSQA, we look forward to keeping you informed about his accomplishments.
