Position Rankings came out from Rivals this past week and we would like to share them with you. DSQA had a strong showing from Florida and Texas. CJ Bennett from Alonso, Trevor Siemian from Olympia and Michael Strauss from Gulliver Prep filled out the 27th, 28th and 29th spots respectively in the Pro-style section. All three from the State of Florida. James Franklin from Lake Dallas high school landed the 8th spot in the Dual-threat section.
Franklin has already committed to Missouri Tigers and should fit very well into their spread style offense. His ability to make plays with his feet is equal with his arm.
With about 15 division one offers between them so far, each QB has firmly established themselves as an elite Quarterback to watch in 2009.
CJ Bennett won the Miami Nike Quarterback MVP earlier this spring, letting everyone know that height does not matter. You will notice that he is the highest rated pro style Quarterback in the nation under 6 feet! Bennett completed 61% of his passes for 3017 yards, 29 touchdowns and only 9 pics.
Michael Strauss had the second highest total for a Dade county quarterback in passing yardage in 2008 as a junior. Leading his team all the way to the State championship game last season, Strauss has raised the bar for all Florida quarterbacks. He completed 71% of his passes for 3,193 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2008.
Trevor Siemian had a breakout year in 2008. Listed at 6-3 and 190 pounds, he completed 71% of his passes for 2,597 yards, 25 touchdowns and only seven interceptions utilizing R4 passing system. Siemian has picked up some recognition from having one of the fasted releases in the country.
We want to send out our congratulations to these young men for their hard work so far, look out for big things from all of them this fall.
Franklin doing what he does!
